Today we are writing our Hurumanu 1 learning stories.  Here is mine.

My Learning Story
Hurumanu:         who are we ?
Name: Candesse	Teachers: Ds,Ht			Term 3	2020
Reflection: Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:    WW1, Anzac and Women in the war
What I Learned:  I learnt about some of the jobs that women did in the War  They worked in factories making weapons for the war   Before the war most women stayed at home and looked after the house and the family.
My Favourite Part: Making the slides  Working with my friends
My Next Steps: To be able to learn about more NZ history
CARR Values:  Make a statement below describing how you showed each of our CARR values during this Hurumanu.
Commitment I was more committed without distractions.		Achievement I achieved in presenting some good slides.
Resilience Sometimes I didn't understand the work so it was good to have help		Respect  I tried hard to respect my T/A s and others when they were helping me, even if the work was hard.
Any other comments I feel happier this term as I am getting help with my work.

Christchurch earthquake

Today we learning about the Christchurch and this is what i have done.

At 4:35 am on Saturday 4 September 2010, the Canterbury region was rocked by a magnitude 7.1 earthquake. The earthquake was based near Darfield, about 40 kms west of Christchurch. Many buildings were damaged, but only one person died and few people were injured.

WW1

Today in hurumanu 1 we are learning about WW1. This is my slideshow with lots of facts about WW1.

mars communication

Today for hurumanu the class had done this thing by using communication with the other person, what we used either morse code or flags we my group and me used we had used flag signals.

writing /visual art

We here been doing our learning story for Hurumanu  4 and my favourite part was the painting and the poem and the learning new thing that I did know about and that I have not done before. I had no least favourite part. The story that there were

My Next Steps:  To make my writing and drawings more interesting  To keep trying even when things are hard I would like to be able to do more painting with water colours

Becoming a martian

Today we are reading and writing learning about mars.

(1.)When can a mission to Mars (or from Mars) happen and why?A mission can only take place every 26 months, when Earth and Mars are at the closest orbit to each other. 

(2) What are 2 geological features of MarsIt is red because its soil has a lot of iron oxide in it. It has one of the largest canyons in the solar system, Valles Mariner

(3)What is one possible solution from the story about oxygen on Mars? A possible solution is to use a machine called Moxie. This uses electricity to split carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide (Co2) and oxygen(O).

(4) if it doesn’t rain on Mars, where does the water come from? You can dig up the underground ice and use heat to turn it into vapour.

(5)How will people get food on Mars? What is a possible solution? in water a name Hydroponics and a warm temperature.
